Kay Milkie Consultant
Biographical Information:

Kay Milkie is an Adolescent Literacy Specialist dedicated to strengthening literacy outcomes for middle and high school students through coaching, collaboration, and systems-level support. She partners with districts and school leadership teams to build capacity for effective literacy instruction by providing guidance, technical assistance, and coaching aligned with Ohio’s Coaching Model. 

Kay is a practiced literacy educator with 36 years of experience serving Ohio’s public schools. She brings expertise in middle school English Language Arts instruction, Title I adolescent literacy intervention, districtwide literacy leadership, and, most recently, instructional and student-centered coaching for grades 6-8. Throughout her career, she has been committed to improving literacy outcomes by leveraging student achievement and adult-implementation data to inform instruction, strengthen teacher practice, and drive continuous improvement. 

Kay supports the implementation of integrated Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for literacy, helps teams apply continuous improvement frameworks, and promotes the use of evidence-based instructional practices. 

As a member of the ReadOhio Network and regional literacy support team, Kay works alongside educators and leaders to develop sustainable literacy systems that advance student achievement and ensure equitable learning opportunities for all learners.
