Rita Kroeger Adolescent Literacy Specialist
Biographical Information:

Rita Kroeger serves as the Adolescent Literacy Specialist for Northeast Ohio, supporting multiple districts through the Literacy in Action Network, as well as educators and leaders in the Warrensville Heights, Kent, Cloverleaf, South Euclid-Lyndhurst and North Olmsted School Districts.  Her current work focuses on facilitating professional learning and guiding leaders and educators in selecting, implementing, and monitoring high-quality instructional materials and evidence-based practices aligned with the Science of Reading. Rita also provides data-driven support to schools by collectively assessing building and district strengths and needs to successfully establish an Integrated MTSS framework, as well as supports districts in meeting the challenge of aligning literacy plans and practices to Ohio’s Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement.

Rita brings 20 years of experience in the education field, including two years with the State Support Team Region 3 as the Regional Literacy Specialist and Urban Literacy Specialist. She is a member of the Read Ohio Network, collaboratively working towards the goal of enhancing literacy outcomes across the state, and is certified to facilitate Ohio’s Dyslexia Modules, Ohio’s Science of Reading Modules, Ohio’s Literacy Improvement Pathway, LETRS, and the Reading-Tiered Fidelity Inventory (R-TFI).
