Class of 2025 Shaker Heights Graduate Named College-Sponsored National Merit Scholarship Winner

Congratulations to Shaker Heights High School Class of 2025 graduate Ingrid Holda, winner of a college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship. Officials of each sponsor college selected scholarship winners from among the Finalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their universities.

Ingrid will attend Kenyon College, where she plans to study international law.

More than 2,900 Finalists nationwide earned a college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship. The awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.

This year, 146 higher education institutions are underwriting Merit Scholarship awards through the National Merit Scholarship Program. Sponsor colleges and universities include 74 private and 72 public institutions located in 42 states and the District of Columbia.

College-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners announced this week are a part of the distinguished group of more than 7,100 high school seniors who will receive National Merit Scholarships for college undergraduate study worth nearly $26 million.
