This 2-day interactive workshop will provide participants with knowledge and skills of several evidence-based intervention practices utilized to teach students with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. The instructor draws on her experience working for the TEACCH program in North Carolina and 30+ years of experience in the field to share strategies to support enhanced engagement and learning of students with ASD. Participants will be introduced to a variety of Evidence Based Practices, including antecedent based interventions, prompting, reinforcement, visual supports (and others) for students with diverse learning needs. These types of structures are well researched and are effective interventions for students with ADHD, cognitive disabilities, and learning disabilities as well as students on the autism spectrum.
