‘It’s not if, but when’ is a phrase often used by school Crisis Response Teams. However, school counselors, teachers, principals or consultants are rarely prepared or trained in crisis procedures, how to respond to students or staff, or what to expect in the days or weeks following a crisis.
This interactive training offers an opportunity to share, develop or refine your crisis plans, understand your role in a crisis, and hear local focus group results about what students say they want and need during and after a crisis event.
Participants will leave with tools and information to utilize during crisis such as the 4 C’s of Building Resilience, tips for the classroom, and the Nova framework for responding to students and staff.
