WRS Level I Certification program is designed to prepare teachers to effectively implement WRS Steps 1–6 with students who are reading and spelling below grade level, as well as those diagnosed with a language-based learning disabilities, such as dyslexia.
It consists of two components:
- WRS Intensive Instruction for the Non-Responsive Reader (Steps 1–6) Online Course
- Web-Based WRS Steps 1–6 Practicum.
(5) Five implementation meetings scheduled throughout the year via Zoom.
Additionally, the Wilson® Credential Trainer will observe each teacher/student pair (5) five times during the training, providing demonstrations and coaching, with written and verbal feedback.
Prerequisite:
- individuals must have completed the WRS Introductory Course within the last five years.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- Have use of the WRS Introductory Set (1-6), 4th edition.
- Have use of the WRS Word Identification and Spelling Test (WIST)
